Made In His Image

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have Megan, she sent us her post via email and we loved it so much that we quickly responded  back and told her we were definitely going to use it!  So today, she is sharing her thoughts on beauty and being made in God's image. 1 Peter 3:4 ESV -" But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious." 

Genesis 1:26
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Romans 9:20 ESV - But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?”

Your sin is not beautiful but you are. Letting the Holy Spirit lead you will reveal true beauty. You are beautiful because in Christ you are accepted. In Christ you are made new. Christ died for you because He values you.  Galatians 5:25 says "If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit."  Walk in the Spirit and shows others your beauty. You are beautiful because you are His. You are beautiful because God made you. Please stop questioning your beauty. Please stop questioning your worth. He loves you. You were made is HIS image. Do not talk bad about His beloved creation. You are His beloved creation. To deny you are beautiful is to deny that He is beautiful because you were made in His image. Your sin is not beautiful but through Christ you are made new.

My name is Megan. I love Jesus.  I am majoring in Exceptional Student Education. I have a passion for the country of Russia since two little boys stole my heart about 10 years ago. I absolutely love orphans.

Currently Vol. 4

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a good week! Today I am linking up with Jenna and Anne for their currently linkup. You can read my post from last time here . Currently Vol. 7

HEARTING:  The new cookbooks and baking books i got for Christmas this year. I made chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel frosting out  of Homemade Decadence by Joy the baker and they were so good!  READING: Catching up on some of my favorite blogs: Oh Simple Thoughts , Wetherills say I Do , and Dearest Love . Also reading the She Reads Truth Esther study.  PINNING: I pinned these cranberry white chocolate oatmeal cookies and i can't wait to make them this weekend! So there may be a recipe on the blog next week!  EATING: I made tomatoe basil soup for my friends and I the other night. It was so good and they loved it as well, which was a plus.  I just finished it yesterday.  ANTICIPATING: Going home for spring break in March, it will be nice to be home for a week. Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow.
