Devotional Monday: Getting into You

You know, the song by Relient K called Getting into you, well I was listening to that the other day and as I heard  the words-"I'm getting into you, because you got to me, in a way words can't describe", I instantly thought of this months theme.  Since listening to that song, those words have been stuck in my head and have  reminded me that God loves us in a way that we can't describe. When it comes to our self worth, I think that sometimes we compare ourselves to others, or feel like we aren't good enough, or feel defeated because of the circumstances going on in our lives. But sisters, those things are all lies that Satan is feeding us, cause we know God loves us in a way we can't describe.

Proverbs 3:15 says, "She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her." This verse is a good reminder that God loves us as much as a precious ruby, and  he let's us know that we are worth it, despite the lies that we tell ourselves. The second part of the verse says it perfectly by saying, "nothing you desire can compare with her", isn't that the truth about God? Nothing we desire can compare with him, nothing we desire can compare with his love for each and every one of us. Sisters, you are precious in his sight, and nothing and no-one can take that away from you.

When I think about self worth, I instantly think of the verse above, doesn't it get it you? In a way words can't describe, just as the song says. Sisters, don't find your worth in the things of this world, or the lies that you tell yourself. Find it in his word, and find it in the love that he has for us, that's more than we can even describe. Just as the song says,  he's getting into you, in a way words can't describe.

  1. Amen! It's so easy to find my worth based on the world's standards when I should be listening to Him instead. If He created us, surely we are worth way more than any lie may tell us!

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : ...
