Teachable Moments: More Than a Little Bit Difficult

What do you do when life gets more than a little bit hard?

Especially when from an outside view in, things shouldn't be so bad.

This week has been especially difficult. I have so many things on my mind tossing inside of me, questions that I have for God that don't seem to be getting answered, abrupt life changes that have been very difficult to adjust to. These things on top of mounting school work overwhelmed me. Then, last night as I was sitting in the kitchen, feeling so confused, and unsure of what to do, I lost it. The tears began to pour out of me like a river as the emotions from the past week came to surface. I have to tell you, I don't think that I have ever had a difficult moment in my life that was quiet like that. It was good for me to let it out, I needed to. As I processed everything going through my head and continue to process it today, it was essential for me in that moment to remember one thing, God IS. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He has never left me, he never will. No matter how I am feeling or what life brings my way, I am NEVER alone. I don't have to go through this journey by myself. I have a God who loves me, who cares for me, and takes care of me. I have a God who brings peace, rest, and joy. I have a God who is ever-patient, who will wait for me when I need him to.

This week amongst the mess, God has begun to teach me how to trust him. And guess what, when I did trust God, he came through, every single time, no matter how small the matter may have seemed. He was faithful to me. He IS trustworthy.

Ladies, be encouraged today that even when we feel like we have reached the depths, we aren't alone, God is there with us, and he will lift us back up. He LOVES YOU!!!

One other very important thing I learned this week, when you need to rest, take the time out to do it. No matter what is mounting in your life. If you don't take care of yourself, you won't make it. Remember, it's okay to take a break. We ALL need to rest. Find your peace and serenity in God today. In our creator who gave us everything good.

When life gets more than a little bit difficult, turn to your creator, and let him restore you.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.    He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters,    he refreshes my soul.He guides me along the right paths    for his name’s sake.

Psalm 23:1-3

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : ...
