Bible Gateway

Hey ladies! Today I just wanted to take some time to let you know about the great resources Bible Gateway has to offer. I'm on there website pretty much every time I write a blog post. It is a great Scripture resource, but it has so much more to offer as well. As frequently as I visit their sight, I am still finding new and helpful tools. There are many different tools you can use for blogging such as passage look up (in many translations), footnotes, commentary, topical index and more. In addition to all of that good stuff, they also have audio Bibles, devotionals, reading plans, and a really awesome app you can download for your iphone!

In case you didn't know here are some of the things Bible Gateway has going on right now...
• Have you taken our Bible quote quiz? It presents you with 16 quotes and challenges you to identify which come from the Bible, and which are taken from a popular fantasy saga like A Game of Thronesor the Harry Potter series. Once you've taken the quiz, you can read more about the Bible quotes we chose for it.
• Get a sneak peek at the new Bible Gateway! Visit our beta websiteto try out the improved design, personal notes and highlights, and more.
• Love it or hate it, the new Noah movie is sending Bible readers flocking to Genesis to read the original story of the Great Flood! We discuss the effects of Noah and the questions raised by Bible-based movies at our blog.

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : ...
