Q+A: Meet Jenna

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have Jenna of Dearest Love. Jenna is such a sweet girl and is such a joy to work with. Her blog is filled with recipes, faith, and everyday life, which always speak so close to my heart. I am excited that she is here today to share a little bit more about herself and her blog.  So be sure to check out her blog at the links below!

1. What is the Story Behind Dearest Love, and how did you come up with your blog name?
A couple of years ago, I decided to change my blog name when I purchased a domain. I thought about it for weeks before I decided on Dearest Love. For a few weeks, I made a point to jot down ideas throughout the day when a word caught my attention or made me feel happy. The words love, dear, and dearest were written down the most so Dearest Love came out of that! I also wanted my blog name to reflect my love for God, who I consider my dearest love of all time.

2. what are your favorite blogging resources?
Pinterest, Bloglovin', and Twitter are my go-to for blogging inspiration and for simply connecting with other bloggers. Not sure if this is a resource, but Hootsuite has been a lifesaver recently now that I have a big girl job!

3. Since Fall is approaching, what is your favorite thing to do in the fall?
Fall is my favorite, so there are many things I LOVE to do: carve pumpkins, go to the mountains, roast marshmallows, and winery hop.

4. What's your favorite fall drink?
I'd have to say either coffee or sangria. I usually make a big pitcher of Sangria when my friends and I go to the cabin for Oktoberfest. Yum!

5 .If you could travel anywhere where would you go?
Internationally: Greece and Turkey. I really want to do some exploring of our own country for a few years, though. There's so much we have to see!

6. What song or songs do you currently have on repeat?
Oceans by Hillsong. I can't get enough!

7. What is your favorite fall recipe?
Probably these delicious caramel apple cheesecake bars I made last fall. They are a husband favorite!

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : ...
