Q+A: Meet Madison

Founders Note: Today on the blog we Madison of The Wetherills say I do! I know I have mentioned it before but I just love her blog! She is so sweet, and I have enjoyed building a relationship with her through blogging. Today she is sharing a little bit about herself and her blog, so be sure to check out her blog at the links below!

1. How long have you been designing blogs?
I've been working with HTML and blog design since the days of Myspace. The first time I ever did a full design of a blog from start to scratch was with my personal blog when I studied abroad in Italy! Getting to do blog designs is super fun and an awesome creative outlet for me.

2. What's your favorite fall recipe?
Normally I would say my pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, but lately I've been on an apple kick. I recently saw a recipe for a salted caramel apple crisp that I cannot wait to make!

3. What's your favorite fall holiday and why?
Thanksgiving, for sure! I have always loved being in the kitchen all day preparing a meal for family. I can't wait for when our house becomes the house everyone goes to for Thanksgiving because I truly enjoy prepping all the food!

4.  Since this months theme is Repentence, what does that mean in your life?
Ahh repentence. Isn't it such an interesting idea in our Christian culture?Repentance to me is summed up in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." If we are made new in Christ than we have to turn away from our old life because He has given us a new one!

5.  what song have you had on repeat lately?
I have been listening to a lot of hymns that have been modernized lately. Especially songs like Come Thou Font from All Sons and Daughters. So good!

6.  If you could travel anywhere this fall, where would you go?
While everyone's excited for crisp fall weather, I'm ready to hope on a plane to Arizona because I'm not quite ready to let go of warm weather!

7. What's on your fall reading list?
I just finished reading Blog Inc. and now I'm looking to start another blogging book. They're so fun to read because it's basically all my pins I've saved on Pinterest in one place! Anyone recommend any good ones?

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : ...
