Coffee Date

Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a good week! Today i am linking up with Jenna of Dearest Love for a coffee date, it's where we share what's been going on in our lives or the high's and lows of that week. So today i am sharing with you a few highs and a low for this week. 


Highs
Finally getting registered for classes last week, it was stressful at first, but now it's better now that i've got a week behind me. 
Also finally getting all my books, which is kind of both a high and low cause now I have tons of reading to do. 
Our new design is finally done. I hope you like it! We are loving it and all the thanks goes to Rachel Cox of Oh Simple Thoughts, she did a great job and she is so great to work with! 
Low
Missing my family, It's always hard to come back and be so far away from them. But i will be back in March for spring break, so i am excited about that! I just wish they could come visit!

    Being away at school from family is always a mixture of fun things and hard things. I'm sure March will be wonderful and that the Lord will do great things with all of you while you're apart! :)

    I love the layout of your blog! And I hear you on the stresses of school. I am in my last semester of college so I've gotten used to registration and getting my books and starting class, but each time I do it it definitely tires me out! Good luck in school! :)

    I'm sorry you're missing your family. Do you ever skype with them or send care packages? I wonder if that would ease the pain a little bit.

    Yes it is hard but i do get to facetime and talk on the phone so that's good!

    So true, i'm in graduate school, but the books are so expensive and there's always so many. But that is typical of college.

    I bet you could do it, but I totally get it. Sometimes i feel like i'm too old. It's hard to believe i'll be 26 in April. Kinda crazy!

Currently Vol. 7

HEARTING:  The new cookbooks and baking books i got for Christmas this year. I made chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel frosting out  of Homemade Decadence by Joy the baker and they were so good!  READING: Catching up on some of my favorite blogs: Oh Simple Thoughts , Wetherills say I Do , and Dearest Love . Also reading the She Reads Truth Esther study.  PINNING: I pinned these cranberry white chocolate oatmeal cookies and i can't wait to make them this weekend! So there may be a recipe on the blog next week!  EATING: I made tomatoe basil soup for my friends and I the other night. It was so good and they loved it as well, which was a plus.  I just finished it yesterday.  ANTICIPATING: Going home for spring break in March, it will be nice to be home for a week. Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Currently Vol: 1

Today I am linking up again with Jenna of Dearest Love and Ann of In Residence for their currently linkup. I usually linkup with my personal blog but I figured I would change it up a bit and also add a bit of variety to the Quiet Place. So here's what I'm currently writing, anticipating, wearing, craving, missing, and encouraged by. Writing: a ton of notes, cause I am currently in Grad school. Anticipating : Fall. I love how the leaves change and temperatures get cooler. Although, It's been pretty hot here in Virginia this week, so hopefully the fall weather will come soon!
