Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...
Encouraging Women to Find Rest in God

This was really timely. Last night, my friends and I were just talking about contentment in seasons that aren't what you expect. I wish that we would have thought of this verse. It can be hard to accept the things that God is doing that don't look like what we expect. But He's capable of so much more than we can ask or imagine if we'll surrender to Him. Thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteThis is so good! I agree, sometimes I find it that my "need it now" mentality keeps me from being content in the Lord. You hit the nail on the head with this and I needed it today!
ReplyDeleteExactly!!!! I mean, waiting for the right thing is soooo much better than having the wrong thing. Why can't we get that through our heads!?!?!
ReplyDeleteThis post is so beautifully real. Being content is hard for everyone in different stages of life, I think. It takes patience (and the willingness to lean on God) to really be content.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true Stacia! sometimes we just have to let God to the leading and get out of the drivers seat.
ReplyDeletethanks Morgan!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! We live in a world where everything is just handed to us and that is when we need to be reminded that God provides for our needs and not the world.
I love your statement- "It can be hard to accept the things that God is doing that don't look like we expect." I have definetly been at that place, where i just want things to go my way but God has a totally different plan.
ReplyDeleteThat's the truth! :)
ReplyDeleteI love what you said there, "Waiting for the right thing is so much better than having the wrong thing" Sometimes we settle for the wrong thing and end up getting hurt in the process, which is hard but I also think that we need to remember that he always meets us where we are at no matter the process it takes to get there.
ReplyDeleteMorgan,
ReplyDeletethat is so true! We just have to wait until God tells us what to do next.
Contentment is something I struffle with at times as well. It is a daily giving up of ourselves and our wants and letting God do his work in us.
ReplyDeleteSo true that is so important! :)
