Teachable Moments: ALL The Time

God is good ALL the time. Even when it doesn't feel like it. 

Sisters, church was SO good today I wish you all could have heard the message. [And now you can! It's up online Here!] God really touched my heart and encouraged me that even though I am going through some tough battles right now he has already given me victory in the war. 

I don't know what you have been through, if your life has been fairly easy up to this point or if your life seems like a second case of Job's story. But what I can tell you dear girl, is that the Lord is with you. He has always been with you. Sometimes he doesn't answer us right away, he doesn't always bring us what we ask for even when what we ask for seems like it would line up with his plan for us. The testimony I heard in church today helped me to remember that even when we are trapped in heart-wrenching circumstances, God's hand is there working. I have found that confusing circumstances never make sense until God brings us out on the other side of them. It is only then, when he has brought us through, can we look back and understand how God used that situation for our good. 

Romans 8:28 is one of my life-line verses. It says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purposes. "

Now, don't get me wrong here. This verse doesn't mean that God is going to give us everything that we want and once we get through this circumstance we are in, life will be peachy. That is far from the truth. 

The truth is "In this world we WILL have trouble" but God says "take heart, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). 

But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Romans 5:15 

Sister, take heart. God knows what you are going through. He sees you, and he cares. It is my prayer today that you would experience God's comfort and peace. That he would encourage you and lift you up. 

If you need some extra encouragement today read Psalm 37. The Lord gave me great comfort in those words this week.

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow.
