Sure Hope

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have our Monthly Contributor Victoria. Victoria is sharing her heart on this month's theme Hope. You can learn more about Victoria and her blog on the about page. In February here at The Quiet Place, we talked about faithfulness. When I hear the word “faithfulness”, I always begin thinking about God. He is faithful to the glory of His name, to His will, to His people, and to remaining true to who He is. Last week, I finished reading the Old Testament and one thing stood out to me. I might have been looking for it, but I really don’t think that I was. In those pages, I saw God declaring the truth about Himself. Over and over again as we follow His people through the days leading up to the coming of their long awaited Messiah, we see His faithfulness on display. My words here are nothing compared to what you will see if you commit yourself to reading His Word! Grab a chronological plan and read for an hour every day. (I read about a “week...

Coffee Date

Today I (Britney) am co-hosting with one of my good blog friends Jenna of Dearest Love for her monthly coffee Date Linkup. I am sharing my highs and lows from the week as a time where we get to sit down and have coffee, and share about what's going on in our lives. Which by the way, I would love to do with some of my blog friends. Maybe soon, but for now let's sit back, grab our cups of coffee and share what's on our heart and minds. Highs// -had a presentation to do on tuesday, and it went really well! I am so glad it did, cause at the last minute one our group members dropped the class so there was only two of us presenting for 50 minutes.  -Found some places to live yesterday, since my lease ends in May. I am looking at one of them today and  I am excited to see it! Hopefully it works out that I can live there, cause it looks really nice!  -My birthday is next week, I turn 26. My parents sent me two presents already a...

Book Review // Be More

When I was asked to Review this book I was excited to dig into it and see what it was all about. Be more  by Sandi Krakowski  is about who God says we are and also on how we can become better connected to God through spending time in prayer and in his word. Each chapter focuses on a different theme such as trust, and asking for help.  I love this quote at the beginning of the first chapter: "I don't know what you're facing today but this one thing I do know: God hasn't changed." I don't know about you, but when i read that statement I was reminded of what God tells us in Hebrews 13:8 - " Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Let that soak in for a moment. God never changes, he's always there to love us, he always says were worth it, he never leaves us, and daily he is pursuing our hearts so that we can fall more in love with him.  That's the kind of women I strive to be, a women who loves God with h...

That WE Might Have Hope

image via unsplash This, is a passage I love.  " Therefore we do not lose heart.  Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly  we are being renewed  day by day.     For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. "  2 Corinthians 4:16-17  This single passage has the power to change my perspective on life completely around. It reminds me that I am not alone in my hardships or struggle to live as Christ calls me. It reminds me that I was not made for this broken world and thus my reward and eternal peace will come in eternity. In that which I hope.  Christ offers us a Crazy love. And lately God has been loving me like crazy. Even in the midst of tough circumstances, God is showing up just to say "I love you", "I'm here", "You are not alone in this", "I know it hurts, but trust me. This is for your good". These words are a great comfort to m...

Curly Hair Care

Today I (Britney) thought I would share my curly hair routine with you. I have used the second product for a while but I just recently started using the first one and i love it! Garnier Frutics Beach Babe Chic texture Spray:  First i spray this on my hair to create a beach waves look. I have even used this by itself and it works great! Don't use too much of this or else your hair will become sticky. This works best on wet hair although I have used it on dry hair and it didn't work too bad.  Garnier Frutics Curl Sculpting Cream/Gel:   I use this second, and i  comb it through my hair with my fingers. Then I scrunch my hair and twist it with my fingers to add more curl. The same goes for this one, don't use too much. I only use a "dime sized" amount of it and it does it's job in helping to prevent frizz.  What is your hair care routine?

For The Brokenhearted

I don't know if you've ever had a broken heart, but let me tell you from experience that it feels like the whole world is falling apart. Everything you had dreamed and hoped for seemed to finally be at your fingertips, and then boom, it's gone.  I've found that Heartbreak is a lot like grief. You have to morn the loss of what you thought was going to be and that is a rough process.  It can be really hard to do life with a broken heart. Yet, amongst the mess, heartbreak, tears, emotions, and long days, God does not leave us by ourselves. In fact, God says in Psalm 147:3 that " He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds".  Psalm 34:18 also tells us that " The  Lord  is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." And lastly God shows his love for the brokenhearted in  Isaiah 61:1 where it says, " The Spirit of the Sovereign  Lord  is on me, because the  Lord  ...

Remaining Faithful to God

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have our monthly contributor Sophia. Sophia is sharing her heart on last month's theme faithfulness. You can learn more about Sophia and her blog on the about page.  So many us of know the popular Bible verse:  “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."  Deuteronomy 31:6  This is what we know.  We know that God is good, He is faithful, and He will never leave us.  But what can we say of ourselves in return.  I can recall that when life was not going my way, I used to get mad at God, my faith was shaken in God, I thought that He had let me down.  However, we know that God will not let us down.  It is impossible for God to lie, and so if we know that God will never leave or forsake us, then we know that He will always be with us no matter what we go through.   As people we are...
