Remaining Faithful to God

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have our monthly contributor Sophia. Sophia is sharing her heart on last month's theme faithfulness. You can learn more about Sophia and her blog on the about page.

So many us of know the popular Bible verse:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."  Deuteronomy 31:6

This is what we know.  We know that God is good, He is faithful, and He will never leave us.  But what can we say of ourselves in return.  I can recall that when life was not going my way, I used to get mad at God, my faith was shaken in God, I thought that He had let me down.

However, we know that God will not let us down.  It is impossible for God to lie, and so if we know that God will never leave or forsake us, then we know that He will always be with us no matter what we go through.

As people we are imperfect and we all fall short of the glory of God.  But this cannot be an excuse for not being faithful to God.  With me, when I got mad with God for some of the things that I had been going through, God gave me a pass on it.  But after a while, He told me as clear as day.  I am always faithful to you, but can you at least try to be faithful to me.

This blew my mind.  But I knew what God was saying was right.  With my human brain, I only saw me, my life, and what I was going through.  I did not want to see pain, feel pain, face disappointments, of have to deal with things not going my way.  And since I was a Christian, it was easier to get upset with God for the things that I was going through instead of telling God that even though things are not going my way, I am going to trust Him no matter what and trust that

“All things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28

No matter what my outside circumstances look like.

Perhaps I am the only Christian that goes through this, perhaps you are like me and do not see your wavering in faith as an issue.  But it is.  We will have to endure trails and tribulations, because that it just how the world is.  But what will make us stand out, and makes us grown our faith, is that through it all; both the ups and downs of life, we still trust God no matter what.

Faith is believing things that we cannot see or understand.  So no matter what we are going through it is essential that we remain faithful to God.  Since we all know, that no matter what; He will remain faithful to us.

If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Finding Comfort in the "Waiting Room"

Founders Note: Today's post is written by our new friend Brooke. Her blog is called "Living as a Single Gal". (you can find the link below) We've just discovered Brooke's blog and we look forward to unwrapping more of the great wisdom she has to share. Without further ado, here is her post... Imagine, if you will, that you are in a waiting room. The room is crowded; people standing, people on chairs, people sitting on the floor; this room is totally packed full. And all of these people are waiting. Waiting for what you may ask? That’s simple; love. You are standing in a corner with some of your girlfriends having some laughs. Then one of them gets called out of the room. Then another. Then another; another one bites the dust. One by one all of your single girlfriends are leaving the waiting room and finding true love. Not only are your friends leaving you, but the rest room seems to empty out significantly. And then there’s you. --...
