So starting today and I am going to be doing a Monday devotional here on "The Quiet Place". My prayer is that this would be a time where you the reader can sit and rest your weary soul. Just as the theme verse of our blog talks about.
Today I want to talk to you about Grace, simply because it's been on my heart and mind today. Grace is something that God gives us daily. It is also something that we should give to others, but sometimes this is hard especially when someone hurts us. When we give them grace, it feels as though we are the ones losing cause it always comes at a price. You know what I mean? We have to be the bigger person and forgive them for the pain that they have caused us even though it may not be easy. We are forced to accept it and the offender goes free. To give grace costs us of our right to be resentful, it robs us of our right to be bitter. It requires us to forgive the inexcusable. I remember a time last year feeling so hurt by someone that it took all I had just to forgive them for what they had done to me. I had to give up my resentment and anger, and trust that God would work in my heart to forgive them. Let me tell you, this wasn't easy. At the time I remember thinking of the verse in Colossians 3:13-"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you". This verse reminds us of the grace that God provides for us each and every day. Also how he uses his grace to help us forgive others. So this week i encourage you to take that step and forgive that person that hurt you. Forgive the inexcusable, and rest in the grace that God gives us so lovingly everyday.
