Etsy Swap | Fall 2014

Today I am linking up with Meg of Rivers and Roads and Amy of Taking Steps Home for the Etsy Swap '14 linkup. I am so excited to show you all what I received. I got assigned to Ashley Woods, you can find out what she got on her blog, because I didn't take any pictures. But I had so much fun shopping for her though!

I received a cute makeup bag From Amanda Fair Designs and Bake, and made with love cards from Pen and Paint from Meg of Beautiful Things. I loved everything I got, she got me so well! I loved being able to check out her blog and get to know her a little bit through her sweet note that she sent with the package.

Here's a closer look at the awesome notecards and the makeup bag, both of which i LOVE! Thank you Meg for these awesome gifts!

Did you join in the Etsy swap? Be sure to link up your posts on either Meg or Amy's blog! I can't wait to see what everyone got!

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : ...
