He is Christ

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have are monthly contributor Buife, she is sharing her heart on this month's theme abiding in christ. You can learn more about Buife and her blog on the about page.

If you are reading this blog and you're yet to receive Christ Jesus into your life, let me use this opportunity to extend His invitation to you;

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come into him (and/or her) and will eat with him (and/or her), and he (and/or she) [will eat] with Me. - Revelation 3:20, Amp.

You might be wondering, 'why do I need to have fellowship with Jesus?' Here are some reasons the bible gives;

As it is written, None is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one. No one understands [no one intelligently discerns or comprehends]; no one seeks out God. All have turned aside; together they have gone wrong and have become unprofitable and worthless; no one does right, not even one!  - Romans 3:10-12, Amp.

Since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. - Romans 3:23-24, RSV.

For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord. - Romans 6:23, Amp.

If you desire to welcome Him into your heart, go ahead and pray this prayer--

"Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Be my Lord and personal Savior. I am deeply sorry for all my sins. I confess them before You. Have mercy on me. Thank You for dying in my place to save me. Thank you for reconciling me to my Heavenly Father. Amen."

God bless you for making this important and genuine decision. Just a few more things. Now that you are saved (born again), I urge you to;

Read your bible daily. You may begin with the Gospel according to the Apostle John (the fourth book of the New Testament).

Indulge in daily prayer. Every relationship thrives on communication. When God speaks to you (via His Word), He equally wants to hear and listen to what you desire to tell Him (in prayer).

Find a bible believing church near you. There is so much joy when brothers and sisters in Christ have fellowship together. For one, Jesus promised to be in their midst. [Matthew 18:20]

Share your faith with someone. When you start reading through the bible, you'll discover amazing truths that you cannot keep to yourself alone. Have courage; do tell it to others.

Want to know why I had to begin this post this way? It's because there are lots and lots of benefits that we enjoy as we live in Christ and Christ in us; more importantly, Christ died that each of us would have access to the store room of God, to receive and enjoy these free gifts.

Here are a few scriptures that highlights some of the benefits of abiding in Christ.

Romans 8:1 - Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging of guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:21 - For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].

Proverbs 18:10 - The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; the [consistently] righteous man [upright and in right standing with God] runs into it and is safe, high [above evil] and strong.

John 15:7 - If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My Words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.

Psalm 121:6 - The sun shall not smite you by day nor the moon by night.

*The five scriptures above are from the Amplified bible.*

There, 5 verses that give us a glimpse into the great treasure that God freely gives us in Christ Jesus. And there are more! Anyone who has a relationship with God in Christ Jesus definitely has the best there is.
