Q+A: Meet Christine

1.  What is the story behind your blog name?
Honestly, when I was starting my blog and thinking of names, it just kind of came to me.  Since I am technically a “work at home mom” instead of a “stay at home mom”, I’m not really a homemaker.  But I still cook, clean, and take care of my kid pretty much all day, every day, so in that sense I am a “homemaker”.  Hence, the “so-called” homemaker!

2. How did you start blogging?
A “real life” friend had started blogging and I saw how much fun she seemed to be having, so I decided to give it a shot!




3. whats one thing that you love about the blogging community?
I love that for the most part, this community is all about building each other up!  I get tired of the relationships between women when it seems like all they want to do is tear each other down all the time.
 4. What's your favorite thing about Fall?
Oh man, that’s tough.  I guess I’m going to have to go with the air.  It’s not too hot, and not too cold, and usually there’s a perfect breeze blowing!


5. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Another tough one!  I think I would probably spend a year backpacking around Europe/Russia/China.  I have always wanted to backpack/train travel, so I would do that from Italy up-and-around the continents until we got to China!
6.What's your favorite Fall TV. show?
          New Girl!  I think that comes on in the Fall, right?  I usually just watch it on Netflix, haha.

    It's nice to "meet" you, Christine! I liked reading the story behind your blog name and how you got started! Does that real life friend still keep up her blog?


    What you said about the blogging community is so true. I think it is especially refreshing to meet Christian bloggers because they seem to be all about helping each other out! I love it. :)

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow.
