Community Brew : Seasons

Today I am linking up with Madison and Rachel for one of my favorite linkups, Community Brew. This months theme is seasons, so today I am sharing with you a little bit about what I have learned in my different seasons of life.

What has God taught you about seasons in life?
God has taught me so much about seasons of life, first I think that sometimes it's so easy to lose sight of whats ahead especially when your in a season of waiting, uncertainty, or struggle. He's taught me that he always meets me where I'm at no matter what I am going through, he is right there walking through it with me. Even in those seasons of waiting. He's taught me that he has a purpose for every season of my life and through that I find beauty in  the season.

How have you learned to move from one season to another?
Moving from one season to another, has been all about prayer and soaking up his word. Joshua 1:9  says, "This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” I find comfort in this verse in each season of life that I am in.

What is your current season in life and how are you learning to grow in that season?
My current season of life is a mix of singleness and pursuing my graduate degree in Counseling. In my singleness I am learning what it means to be content in it even though there is huge desire on my heart to be married one day and have a family of my own, but I know that God has a plan for it all. I am also learning to rest in him and give of time to others, and work on investing in them. I'm not saying that singleness is a bed of roses and that I don't struggle with it sometimes, I know it's hard. But I do know that despite the "hot mess" days God is right there pursuing me, that is where the real beauty is.
In pursuing my degree, God is shaping me into the godly women that he wants me be so that I can help others in their struggle and show his love to them in return.
Isaiah 40:31
"but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

I love this verse because it truly captures what it is to be in a season of life where we are waiting, struggling, etc. It reminds me of a song by Francesca batisttelli, He knows my Name. If you have a chance listen below and know that God is always with you no matter what season of life you are in.

Being Content

Content, As christian women we here that word more times than we can count, especially in a season of waiting. Content is defined as,   pleased and satisfied : not needing more.  Have you been in a season in your life where your feel like you are just waiting? Waiting for a new job, waiting for things to get better, waiting for marriage, etc. Whatever you are waiting for, sometimes it just seems like it's taking forever just like a long line at the grocery store.  When I think about being content, my thoughts instantly go to being content in my singleness. How many times have we heard the cliche lines like "just wait, God's got it" said by well meaning people, only to make you feel worse. There was a time in my life where it was so hard to hear all of those lines without just wanting to cry, because like I said it made me feel worse rather than better.  That is when I would get discontent in waiting,  sometimes I feel like i am in this never-endin

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : If you there
