Trust. Trusting God. It's the easiest AND hardest thing to do. The easiest because I know of God's faithfulness in keeping His promises. I'm sure of what I hope for, and certain of what I do not yet see. It's the HARDEST thing for me to do because like many humans, I like to be in control of my circumstances and do anything in my power to shape them the way I want them to go. This in itself neither good nor bad, but when presented with a situation where I need to trust God, I have to keep myself in check. I have to ask myself, "Are you trusting God, or are you trying to control the situation?". It's easy to drive myself crazy analyzing what has occurred, trying to diagnose it like a mysterious disease. So, I can't go there. I have to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. I do this by keeping my mind stayed on his Word; reminding myself that His plans for me are good, that he can bring good out of all things, and that God works for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purposes, etc... An open dialogue with God is also how I keep my eyes fixed on him. I pray, pray, and then pray some more. Why? 1. Because pouring out my heart to God is healthy for me, 2. Because prayer changes my heart and perspective towards God's heart and perspective, 3. The prayer of a righteous person is POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE!!!
Sister, God IS trustworthy, but to trust, means to submit to God's lead. It means waiting on God. It means abiding in his word and on the assurance of it's truth.
For we have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
Be encouraged sister, God IS Trustworthy, AND you, yes YOU, are capable of trusting in Him.
Hebrews 6:18-20 New International Version (NIV)
18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
And more Lauren Daigle, because this song is AMAZING!!!
