Welcome to The Quiet Place

My name is Britney and I am excited to share my heart with you on this blog. Hillary and I decided to start this blog with a common goal in mind, to encourage young women in their twenties to do as Matthew 11:28 says--"Come to me all who are weak and weary and I will give you rest". Rest for your soul. I hope that you join us in this restful place. Our prayer is that "The Quiet Place" would be a sanctuary for you the reader to know that God meets us right where we are at no matter what we may be going through.

My name is Hillary and I am excited to acquaint you with The Quiet Place. Britney and I came together to create this blog with a similar vision in mind. We wanted a space where we could share our hearts with readers and encourage them to abide in God. We also wanted this blog to be a restful place. We realize that if Jesus needed to spend time with his father in a quiet place like Gethsemane, we need to as well. (Hence our URL www.weneedgethsemani.blogspot.com) Therefore, we hope you will join us in this restful space to be encouraged and renewed by the Holy Spirit.

  1. Thanks for starting this blog ladies! How awesome to see a couple of young women taking the lead to encourage others to find their peace and rest in Christ! Wonderful! May God bless your outreach to other young women! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you both.

  3. Thanks Carrie!
I think the thing that would be the greatest help to tqp right now is getting the word out there. We have a heart for encouraging other young women but we need to reach more of them. If there is any way you might be able to help us with reaching more women, that would be amazing!

  4. Wonderful hearts and wonderful blog. I'm following your blog and love to learn more from you, ladies. I have the same passion as yours since I found young women put their identity in earthly things and their life is so fragile. It's broke my heart. This year I'll write more for women.. Let's empower them together for His glory!

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : ...
