Devotional Monday: God's Love

Today I want to talk to you about God's love, sometimes we forget just how much he loves us. C.S. Lewis says this about love--"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”

To love anyone, we must be vulnerable. When you love someone you put your  heart on the line and give it to that person with the chance that it could be broken and also with the chance that they might not love us back. But when we give our heart to God, he loves us no matter what, no matter who we are. God doesn't change, Malachi 3:6 "I the Lord do not change"-, he is always faithful, his love is a sure thing. People will love us for a while but then they don't. But God sticks with us, he loves us no matter what, his love never fails. I encourage you to remember that his love for each and everyone of us never fails. So i leave you with the verse below..

Psalm 51:9-11 
 9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,and renew a steadfast spirit within me.11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow.
