Brokenness

Have you ever been so upset, or disappointed, or heartbroken to the point where you just wanna cry. And then you do, and all the while you are asking God why this happened to you. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. That's right, he is near when our heart feels like it's been ripped out  of our chest, or when we simply can't finds the strength to go on he is right there to put his loving arms around us and let us know that he's got it all under control and with him we are safe. He is our safety net in times of trouble. In the midst of our brokenness he picks up the pieces of our heart and makes them new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that we are made new in Christ, and the old has gone away. In our brokenness we are made new. Sisters, rest in the truth that Psalm 34:18 provides, let it rest in your heart.  Then Zephaniah 3:17, tells us that God is with us every step of the way and that he takes great delight in each and every one of us. Even when we feel like there's no hope at all, there is hope in the promises that God gives us. He wants us to trust him in the midst of the brokenness and remember that he can make us whole again, rest in that truth as you go throughout your weekend. Maybe you are feeling broken, remember that you aren't alone in your brokenness because God is right there with you sister!  He is with you in whatever you may be going through, rest in Psalm 34:18 my dear sisters. Be encouraged that he is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"

Zephaniah 3:17
"The Lord your God is with you, the mighty warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing"

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : ...
