"The Lord will work out his plans for my life-for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me" -Psalm 138:8 (NLT)
Today I am going to talk about trusting in God's plans, simply because as I read this verse tonight it pulled at my heart strings. We all have a plan for lives weather it be what we think the future may hold, or when we are going to land the job of our dreams after we are done we college. Sometimes we make lists of these things and when we want them to happen, then when things don't happen the way we thought they would we are disappointed, maybe even heartbroken, cause we were so sure of what was going to happen next. But in the midst of being so sure of our plans, we forgot to put them in the hands of God and trust that he will work them out for our good. The verse above assures us that God's plans are so much better than our own. He always knows what's best for us and his love for us is unchanging and it has no conditions. There was a time where i thought i had a situation in my life all figured out but little did I know God had other plans for it. Even though those plans at the time made me want to cry cause I couldn't have what I wanted. I remember telling one of my close friends how much my heart hurt at the time, but as I look back on the situation I know that God had my best interest in mind, his plans turned out to be so much better. And i can honestly say that I am thankful for how much i grew in my relationship with God. God used that situation in my life to help me to see that his plans are so much better than my own and that he loves me more than I can even imagine. Just as the second part of the verse tells us, "For your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me". Be encouraged by these words and rest your weary soul in truth that they hold. So sisters, remember when things are going as you "planned" remember that his plans are so much better than anything that we could ever come up with and put your trust in him.
