Founders Note: Today on the blog we have Kiki our monthly contributor sharing her heart on this months topic beauty. So we hope you are encouraged by her words today! And Be sure to check out her blog here--In it's time.
There are mornings when things just don't go my way. I wake up with terrible bedhead, the outfit I picked the night before doesn't look as great on me as it did on the hangers, and to top it off, there's a zit front and center on my forehead.
It's those moments that can sometimes lead me to the "what if's." And as women, I think we all know what those include.
What if I had a clear complexion? What if I had long, thin legs? What if I had hair that curled for days, or clothes that hugged me at all the right places? What if I had a never ending closet? What if I had make up that matched my skin tone perfectly? What if?
Those what if's are poisonous, aren't they? They turn us green with envy and always leave us wanting more. More money, more time, more beauty.
But enough of that poison. Let's move onto something bigger and better than all of that. I'm sure many of you know that you are created in His image. Created to be one of a kind, created with time and care, and oh, so much beauty.
But how many of us truly
believe that? How many of us believe that we beautiful? I know for a fact, that I don't always believe it.I've found that it's a struggle to believe these words because I surround myself and all too often listen to what people tell me. I listen to the voices that tell me that I'm not created good enough. Not thin enough, not pretty enough, and not worth enough.
Instead of listening to the world, what if we listened to God?
What if, we as daughters of Christ, believed every single one of His words?
You are beautiful, you are enough, and you are loved. And I pray that you never
ever forget that.
What an eye opening post on how toxic what if's can be. Thank you for the reminder that we are beautiful and uniquely made by our King.
