Resting In His Price

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have Katy, a dear friend from our recent college days. I asked her if she would do a guest post for The Quiet Place because she is THE most passionate Jesus Lover I know. Today she is sharing her heart on this month's theme self worth. So grab a comfy seat and prepare to soak up some passionate sister love.

I am a woman of extremes.
Not only do I enjoy living life in extreme spontaneity, intense fellowship, and fiery passion for what I do, but I have sometimes been haunted by extremes.
I have experienced both sides of the pendulum of emotion….sadness, despair, and on the other end, euphoria, bliss. I have experienced breakthrough from God, and also experienced those desolate places, as I am sure many people who have walked with God for more than a minute can relate to a sista.
I have been told I can be extremely silly, and some people are surprised when they are acquainted with my depth hidden inside, while others are surprised I can be so funny.
So, for me, when I came to know God, who is unchangeable, immovable, unquenchable, unrelenting, I am thankful for that. I am thankful for his steadiness and his decision for a never-changing love.
But,
I think some things are honestly more “set” in place, determined in life than we think.
Self worth is one…
Even though we see human actions of trying to attain a sense of worth by getting that job, getting that relationship, getting that cutting edge look that will finally show people who they really are…etc.
Our self worth has already been defined. I am so happy the church is finally understanding that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit has sent the big fat message of “YOU’RE WORTHY OF MY LOVE”!!!!! Jesus did the will of His Father, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to die for us, because it was in the will of the Father, which He wanted to do. Why? For the reward set before him. His reward? Us, with Him, in Heaven for Eternity.
If we only chose to REST in this self worth screaming at us from the beloved redemption story we are called to preach to the nations!! Let’s do it!
It’s easy to feel more self worth when you’re surrounded by friends, feeling in shape, having a fulfilling job, and everything is going smoothly….but the reality is….that homeless guy over there, that drug addict, has as much proclaimed self worth as you do, WHICH IS A LOT. We have been deemed worthy to die for.
Our self worth is unchangeable, immovable, deemed unrelenting by our God with the very same qualities!
I will not deceive you my beloved sisters. I have to fight the good fight, and punch those thoughts off frequently that say “I’m not good enough” or “Why would they like me?” Etc. I look at it as all the other daily fights we fight for Jesus.
I liked these two definitions of worth, that I shall leave you to ponder, as you consider yourself viewed this way.

Preposition: Good or important enough to justify.

Come on. Selah (Stop and calmly think of that).

Noun: Usefulness or importance, as to the world, to a person, or for a purpose.

An extreme Lover, who calls you worthy. That is you sisters.
Shalom.

Meet Katy: I'm Katy, a girl who wants to heal the world using the love of Jesus. I have been changed by His Love, and He has proven to me His strength and ever-faithfulness. I have learned to follow my heart, and the places it leads me, as I realize that God himself made me and fashioned me to be....me, and he made me to love chocolate, socialization, and dancing. I am excited to answer his call for missions this year and will be heading off to Ireland, a place I will most likely feel very at home in. It is only the beginning. I am so blessed and humbled to have already seen His redemption in my life, followed my dreams, and being used by Him in my job arena, and other ministries. I have so much more to learn but I am glad I have all of Eternity with the Perfect Being to do so. He died for me, and He also makes live very fulfilling to Live for Him. Jesus is the reason for EVERY season.

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Hellooo Beautiful

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have our dear friend Katrina. She sent us her post via email and we instantly responded that we were definitely going to use it! Today she is sharing her heart on this months theme beauty, so we hope you are encouraged by her post as much as we were!  So be sure to check out her designs and blog, cause she's awesome!  "You look beautiful!" Cue the eye roll, an excuse or a denial, and if you're lucky, there's a quiet "thank you" slipped in there to keep from being rude. Sound familiar? I've had too many of these encounters, and have even found myself delivering the eye roll to a well-meaning friend.  Why is it so hard to take a compliment like this? " Tell Me I'm Pretty " I find it interesting how Satan will turn the most beautiful things ( I'm talking about  you  here, by the way ) into a twisted, backwards appearance of the truth in our minds?  We no longer see the ...

Finding Comfort in the "Waiting Room"

Founders Note: Today's post is written by our new friend Brooke. Her blog is called "Living as a Single Gal". (you can find the link below) We've just discovered Brooke's blog and we look forward to unwrapping more of the great wisdom she has to share. Without further ado, here is her post... Imagine, if you will, that you are in a waiting room. The room is crowded; people standing, people on chairs, people sitting on the floor; this room is totally packed full. And all of these people are waiting. Waiting for what you may ask? That’s simple; love. You are standing in a corner with some of your girlfriends having some laughs. Then one of them gets called out of the room. Then another. Then another; another one bites the dust. One by one all of your single girlfriends are leaving the waiting room and finding true love. Not only are your friends leaving you, but the rest room seems to empty out significantly. And then there’s you. --...
