Sometimes when you are praying, do you feel as though you are just talking to yourself? Prayer is a time where you and God can talk. It's a time where we can have "facetime" so to speak with God. We can do it silently or out loud. It doesn't matter, no matter what he is right there listening to us. He hears us even when we don't think so. He knows the depths our heart and yet he still loves us. Think about that for second, or a few minutes.
Sisters, when you pray you must remember that he hears it all. He hears you in your brokenness, joy, laughter and even pain. He listens with his careful ear and lets us know that he loves us all the same. Psalm 66:19 reassures us that he has surely listened and heard our prayer. No matter what it is, or how it's conveyed. He hears it all.
When I am praying I like to write it down in my prayer journal, so that I can go back see the work that God has done in my life. I remember praying a while back when I was struggling, writing "I just can't do it anymore on my own, do your will in the situation." In that moment I was feeling so hurt by the situation but once I gave it to God I was able to really hear him saying--"it's okay".
Sisters rest in the truth that Psalm 66:19 provides and pray knowing that he has surely heard your prayer.

Amen to that! Prayer is definitely a two-sided conversation, even if we may not think so all the time.
ReplyDeleteAnd I so agree with you on prayer journals! I have thoroughly loved going through my old prayers and devotionals in my journal and seeing where I was at and where God's got me now--it's truly amazing to see the journey I've been on! :)
So true.
DeleteYeah I like looking back too, it's amazing how God works!
