Currently I am reading the book: One thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp, It has truly made me see what is to be thankful, even for the most mundane or ordinary things. Ann says it best with this quote from the book: "Something always comes to fill the empty places. And when I give thanks for the seemingly microscopic, I make a place for God to grow within me"
Sometimes life seems like we are on a constant roller coaster of pain, hard ache, and even joy. The roller coaster just keeps going and we don't know if we can keep up, but we must remember that in the midst of these circumstances, giving thanks to him is what he calls us do, even if it's just for the socks on our feet.
The verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 has really resonated with me, it says, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." Think about that for second, Give thanks in all circumstances not just the good ones, but all of them. Even the ones where we feel defeated, or sad because in these moments it is where we find God's grace and love. It is in these moments of defeat that he meets us right where we are at.
So sisters, whatever you are going through this week know that he is right there with you in the midst of it all, and don't forget to thank him for all that he has given you with his grace and love.
I have definitely felt the roller coaster these past few days (especially with the seemingly inevitable Christmas stress and busyness) so thank you for the reminder to take a moment to breathe, give thanks, and praise Him. The PERFECT devotional for me this week, ladies! :)

DeleteI've been learning this so much lately, to give thanks to him even in the most mundane things. I am glad you were encouraged as much as I was.
