Trusting in God isn't always easy to do. Although God has not given us reason to doubt him, we still find ourselves holding on to the threads of whatever control we do have left. Ladies, it's time to let go. It's time to give up all of the things you have been holding onto. They are a weight heavy to bear, a weight God has offered to hold for you, so let Him hold onto them.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
God is faithful, he has never once been unfaithful to us. God is trustworthy. Putting our trust in God means that we walk in obedience to him, even when we don't understand the big picture, and especially then. Right now I am excited to share with you that my relationship with God is deepening. But it isn't happening because I sat around and hoped something would change. It takes willingness, and constant work. Through prayer, self-discipline, and the work of the Holy Spirit in me, I am able to walk in obedience to the Lord and in his freedom. This freedom is available to everyone, but trust in God is necessary before we can experience true freedom.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5&6
This past weekend I had the honor to be apart of a 24 hour prayer meeting at a local church. That night I got to watch the Lord heal hearts and bodies. Including my own. The next day the Lord put this song in my heart. It is fitting here because it's a song of surrender. With this song we say "God, I don't know what is ahead, but I trust you."
