 A Message From Britney:
Today we turn One year old, I must say, that God has taken this blog places I never thought it would go. We have three awesome monthly contributors, Kiki, Charity and Kristy, you can find out more about them on our about page here. We also have had the pleasure of many guest posts, and getting to know some of our awesome readers. This blog wouldn't be possible without you the readers, we truly appreciate all your comments and encouraging words.

 As we begin another year of: "encouraging young women to find rest in God"  We pray that you are encouraged by the words on this blog, and the awesome women who write them.

A Message From Hillary:

 We're ONE! It's so exciting I CAN'T even believe it!

 God is doing AMAZING things. I could never have imagined the things that have happened in this first year of The Quiet Place. It just goes to show that when you give it to God he'll take it and run with it. God has been so faithful to us here and I am so thankful for that. This year has been one of growth, life change, and opportunity. I am so very honored to be apart of what God is doing. I pray that you always find encouragement here and that you are always pointed toward Christ.

Currently Vol. 4

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a good week! Today I am linking up with Jenna and Anne for their currently linkup. You can read my post from last time here . So, here's what I am currently, reading, wishlisting, loving, appreciating, and creating.  Reading: Hebrews, The Nearness of God by Lisa Harper for my womens bible study. It's so good and just love her humor, if you haven't heard of her, she's great! Very similar to Beth Moore.  wishlisting: this mug from Rachel at Oh Simple Thoughts Etsy Shop which you should check out cause her stuff is so cute! And this Michigan art print from East West Design Company on Etsy.  l oving: The She Reads Truth Hospitality devotional plan. It's so good and God is teaching me so much through it!  Appreciating: my best friend! And my friends that are here in Virginia. Currently Vol. 7

HEARTING:  The new cookbooks and baking books i got for Christmas this year. I made chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel frosting out  of Homemade Decadence by Joy the baker and they were so good!  READING: Catching up on some of my favorite blogs: Oh Simple Thoughts , Wetherills say I Do , and Dearest Love . Also reading the She Reads Truth Esther study.  PINNING: I pinned these cranberry white chocolate oatmeal cookies and i can't wait to make them this weekend! So there may be a recipe on the blog next week!  EATING: I made tomatoe basil soup for my friends and I the other night. It was so good and they loved it as well, which was a plus.  I just finished it yesterday.  ANTICIPATING: Going home for spring break in March, it will be nice to be home for a week. Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow.
