Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our Monthly contributors Kiki, you can learn more about her on our about page here. She is sharing her heart on this months theme, seasons of life.
If there's anything I've learned from experience, it's that there are different seasons, or different chapters of life. What I've learned more recently is that with each season, come different moments of waiting. Everyone is waiting for something. Waiting for graduation, waiting for a job offer, waiting for a phone call, waiting for a kiss goodnight, a bedtime story, or maybe a ring on their left hand.
Waiting is a part of everyone's life. And yet when we're actually waiting, it often feels like we're all alone. I want to take a quick moment today to remind you that no matter what stage you're at, what red light you're sitting at and waiting for that green light to go, that you're not alone.
Sure, our waits might last longer than others, but I think we can all agree that we need each other at each red light. We need to be able to look over at the car beside us or in our rearview mirrors and remember that there are others waiting, too. They may not be sitting next to us, but they're there. And they're there to remind you that sometimes, waiting really is a beautiful thing after all. So hang in there, friends. Hang in there and remind yourself that you're not alone.

It's so cool how we can all bond in the waiting. Some wait for college, some wait for jobs, some wait for marriage, some wait for kids. And while that doesn't really make the wait any better, it is a good reminder to know that people understand! Thanks Kiki! You're so wise! ;)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks sweet friend! It wasn't until this past year (especially with my blog name change) that I realized that we all do wait and are waiting for something all the time. So glad to be in the waiting with you!
DeleteI like the image. Definitely a new way to look at the waiting, and instead of focusing on our own red light, seeing all the others that are waiting too.- thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kristy! It was something that I know God wanted me to write because it literally popped into my head last minute. I looove it, too! :)
DeleteGreat post, Kiki! And such a great reminder for me as my word for the year is waiting! As I spend time in my own waiting time, I can't forget about those around me. I truly think the Lord puts specific seasons in our lives so that we can help others who may go through the same season. And learning to wait is definitely not excluded from that.
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend! I completely forgot what your word for the year is/was but I love that it ties into your life so well, too! Definitely do not forget that you're the only one waiting--I'm here for ya, that's for sure!
Deleteamen and amen. also, while we're waiting, we don't have to stop living. you can still sing and dance and pray in the car while you're waiting at that red light ;) love this, kiki!
ReplyDeleteSo true Meg, I plan on doing a lot of singing and dancing! :D
DeleteYes, Meg! I looove that addition to the analogy! Waiting does not mean that life will end, nor does it mean that we have to stop everything and just sit there at our red lights. The clock still ticks and the music still plays and there's lots of dancing to be done! :)
Deletelove this post!!! it's so true that a lot of times we feel all alone in our stage of waiting! but what a great reminder that even if no one is waiting on the same thing i'm waiting on, that i'm not alone! and waiting really can be such a beautiful thing!! reminds me of that song "i will serve you while i'm waiting...."
ReplyDeleteI love that song too!
DeleteI'm glad you can relate! I all too often think that I am alone and that no one can relate to how I'm feeling or what I'm experiencing. But waiting really is something we all share and one of the reasons why I know God created community. :)
