Hi everyone! I'm Samantha and I blog over at Elah Tree - a lifestyle blog and shop dedicated to infusing creativity into everyday life. I am so honored to be hear today.

Britney shared with me that this month The Quiet Place would be focusing on love. I was reminded of how I often struggle with knowing how much God dearly loves me.  No matter what, my worth and value are defined in Christ. Because this is something that I struggle with, in the fall I created an encouragement board full of verses reaffirming God's love for me.

Here are all the verses I chose:
  • Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. - Psalm 100:3
  • But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. - Peter 2:9
  • And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit... - Ephesians 1:13
  • Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. - Colossians 3:12
  • I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. - Psalm 139:14
  • You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you. - Song of Solomon 4:7 (my favorite!)
  • But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” - 1 Samuel 16:7
  • See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. - 1 John 3:1
  • Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. - Matthew 10:31

Creating an encouragement board is so helpful because it constantly reminds me of God's love for me. He is always reminding me of his promises through his word and reaffirming me of how valuable I am to him. What are some encouraging verses that remind you of God's love for you?

  1. Thanks for sharing Samantha! One of my favorites is "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 AND "Know this: my God will also fill every need you have according to His glorious riches in Jesus the Anointed, our Liberating King." Philippians 4:19

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Finding Comfort in the "Waiting Room"

Founders Note: Today's post is written by our new friend Brooke. Her blog is called "Living as a Single Gal". (you can find the link below) We've just discovered Brooke's blog and we look forward to unwrapping more of the great wisdom she has to share. Without further ado, here is her post... Imagine, if you will, that you are in a waiting room. The room is crowded; people standing, people on chairs, people sitting on the floor; this room is totally packed full. And all of these people are waiting. Waiting for what you may ask? That’s simple; love. You are standing in a corner with some of your girlfriends having some laughs. Then one of them gets called out of the room. Then another. Then another; another one bites the dust. One by one all of your single girlfriends are leaving the waiting room and finding true love. Not only are your friends leaving you, but the rest room seems to empty out significantly. And then there’s you. --...
