You Are Loved

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have Shirley from Light and Love. We connected with Shirley when she sent us her guest post via email. She is sharing her heart this months theme: God's love. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below!
  I Love You
You are loved. Do you know that? Do you believe it? I mean *really* believe it with your whole heart? I want you to! GOD wants you to! All throughout the bible we are told how much God loves us. He sent His only son to die on the cross for our sins. We know that verse well - John 3:16 For God so love the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. While that is THE verse to remember and cling to, there are others that speak of His love for us. Those are real, too!
As I've been going along in my bible study this week, His love has been made so clear to me. I want it to be clear to YOU, too! I want you to know that nothing you did in the past nor any thing that you will do in the future will keep God from loving you. Hear me friend - NOTHING will ever change the love God has for you. It is the purest love you will ever know. He loves you without fail. Despite our many faults and shortcomings, He loves us still! There may have been people in your life that you've come in contact with that have chipped away at your self esteem and self worth. They may have bullied you and repeatedly said things to you and about you that had you questioning if you had any value or even a purpose in this life. Believe that you do! You are still here on this earth breathing air! You woke up this morning kissed by the sunlight! God has you here for a very special reason. Trust it. Believe it! No matter what any one else has ever said or done to you in this life, no matter how small they have attempted to make you feel ... you are loved, you are valued, and you matter! You are safe with Him, dear one. Oh how He loves you. Oh how He loves me. We can rest in this assurance. There has never been a greater love than the love of our Heavenly Father. We do not have to strive to do a single thing to earn it. He loves us still. You are safe with God above. Rest in His love.
Psalms 103:8-13 NLT 8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. 9 He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. 10 He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. 11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12 He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. 13 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

  1. This is such a true post - Believe me this is coming from a girl who since becoming a Christian just over two years ago has twice tried to run from God but do you know what? He loves me so much he won't allow me to run anymore. He keeps wrestling for me and fighting for me every day.

Being Content

Content, As christian women we here that word more times than we can count, especially in a season of waiting. Content is defined as,   pleased and satisfied : not needing more.  Have you been in a season in your life where your feel like you are just waiting? Waiting for a new job, waiting for things to get better, waiting for marriage, etc. Whatever you are waiting for, sometimes it just seems like it's taking forever just like a long line at the grocery store.  When I think about being content, my thoughts instantly go to being content in my singleness. How many times have we heard the cliche lines like "just wait, God's got it" said by well meaning people, only to make you feel worse. There was a time in my life where it was so hard to hear all of those lines without just wanting to cry, because like I said it made me feel worse rather than better.  That is when I would get discontent in waiting,  sometimes I feel like i am in this never-endin

Four Tips for Creating Community through Blogging

1. Reach out to other bloggers:  this is an  essential when wanting to get into community. It can be as small as a comment on their blog, or an email. I have built relationships with other bloggers through email, commenting on their blogs, etc. For me it has been a beneficial thing, to create community in something that I really didn't know there was any.   This is a great post on why bloggers need community.  2. Join a blog group on Facebook, or some other social media group: I have joined the Peony Project on facebook which is a group for other christian bloggers. It's a great group and i would definitely recommend it!  3. Make meaningful comments: when I say meaningful comments I don't mean that you have to write a novel, but at least engage with the post somehow. Check out Madison's post on how to comment on blogs to find out more.  4. Plan a blogger Meetup : If you there
