Drenched in Redemption

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our monthly contributors Vannessa. She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Purity. We hope you are encouraged by her words as much as we were. You can find out more about Vannessa and our other monthly contributors on our about page

Whenever I hear the word “Purity” my mind naturally goes to the times in my life when I felt

like I acted anything other than pure. I’ve avoided writing on this subject simply for those
reasons. As a matter of fact, I think that is why it’s taken me so long to submit this article. To sit with Jesus and discuss this subject seemed daunting really.

Oh but sweet dear sisters, God is truly faithful. He reminded me of a time when He showed me what purity looked like. It was after I had returned to the fold after a time in the wilderness. It must have been Easter because I was sitting with Him and considering the Cross. Then He showed me that here I was standing in front of the cross holding a dirty and tattered garment. As I held this garment blood, as red as anything I’ve ever seen, flowed from the cross. It filled my garment. When I looked down the garment was white as snow.

When we have entered into a relationship with The Almighty all that we have done, thought,
said, believed is covered by the blood of The Lamb! We are new, blameless and pure in the
sight of the only One who matters, Our Savior.

A few years ago I spoke to a group of teenage girls about my life as a teenager. Talking about
that time, and my testimony was heartbreaking as I spoke with regret and sadness. But as I
began to allow tears to run, I felt God speak this truth into my heart, “But, you are redeemed!”
I was able to express to them, that while they may feel they had messed up, disappointed God
and their parents, that there was redemption for them, all they had to do was accept it. That’s
true for you and I my dear friends, as well. We can walk around with our heads held high and
our hearts cleaned, because we are drenched in redemption.

Purity can only come from Jesus. We can’t make ourselves pure; we cannot be good enough on
our own. But, when we look to our Father, we can know without any doubts that was he sees is
a heart who desires to know Him, that’s real purity. And so, let me pray for us:

Heavenly Father,
As we lay our pasts, our present and our future down at your feet we can rest assured knowing
that you have covered it all with your blood. You hold us with your scarred hands, and you see
us. Jesus if a sister of ours is reading this and they are unsure of where they stand with you, I
ask that you send the Holy Spirit to prompt them in giving their hearts to you. I ask that you
continue to bind our wounds and hold our hands as we walk through this sometimes dark and
dirty world. We need you, because nothing else will do. Thank you for redemption, thank you
for all you did in flipping this girl’s life right side up. I’m thankful and we love you.
Amen

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Finding Comfort in the "Waiting Room"

Founders Note: Today's post is written by our new friend Brooke. Her blog is called "Living as a Single Gal". (you can find the link below) We've just discovered Brooke's blog and we look forward to unwrapping more of the great wisdom she has to share. Without further ado, here is her post... Imagine, if you will, that you are in a waiting room. The room is crowded; people standing, people on chairs, people sitting on the floor; this room is totally packed full. And all of these people are waiting. Waiting for what you may ask? That’s simple; love. You are standing in a corner with some of your girlfriends having some laughs. Then one of them gets called out of the room. Then another. Then another; another one bites the dust. One by one all of your single girlfriends are leaving the waiting room and finding true love. Not only are your friends leaving you, but the rest room seems to empty out significantly. And then there’s you. --...

Being Content

Content, As christian women we here that word more times than we can count, especially in a season of waiting. Content is defined as,   pleased and satisfied : not needing more.  Have you been in a season in your life where your feel like you are just waiting? Waiting for a new job, waiting for things to get better, waiting for marriage, etc. Whatever you are waiting for, sometimes it just seems like it's taking forever just like a long line at the grocery store.  When I think about being content, my thoughts instantly go to being content in my singleness. How many times have we heard the cliche lines like "just wait, God's got it" said by well meaning people, only to make you feel worse. There was a time in my life where it was so hard to hear all of those lines without just wanting to cry, because like I said it made me feel worse rather than better.  That is when I would get discontent in waiting,  sometimes I feel like i am in this never...
