The Circle : Fall Favorites

Today I am linking up with Kiki of In it's time  for her monthly linkup The Circle. This months theme is Fall favorites, which I am so excited to share with you! So here are a few of mine.

1. Favorite fall fashion/clothing item (what you're looking forward to wearing)?
I am looking forward to wearing scarves, jean jackets, and comfy sweaters.

2. Favorite fall drink?
My favorite fall drink would be Hot apple Cider because I can get it fresh at home in Michigan, and i also love it brewed in my Keurig. Also Hot chocolate, and I love caramel macciato's from starbucks. so good!

3. Something on your fall bucket list?
To go up to the mountains overlooking the campus, or go to some other ones around to see the fall colors once they start here in VA.

4. Favorite fall recipe?
My favorite fall recipe would be this Pumpkin Chocolate chip bread. I love the pumpkin mixed with the chocolate chips, so good!

5. Halloween candy or Pumpkin Spice Latte?
I've never had a pumpkin spiced latte, so I guess halloween candy.

6. Favorite fall scent?
It would probably be something Apple scented, that always reminds me fall.

7. Favorite fall holiday?
thanksgiving, because you get to eat a lot of food. And I always enjoy helping my mom in kitchen and pumpkin pie is one of my favorites!

8. What fall (weather) is like where you live?
In Michigan (where I'm from) It's cool, and crisp. Not too hot, not too cold. Here in Virginia where I am currently living for Grad school, it's been pretty much the same maybe a little warmer. It's just starting to get a little bit like fall. I love it!

Now it's your turn, What are some of your fall favorites?
Be sure to link up with Kiki and Amber!

  1. I am a PROUD Michigander!!! I just found your blog today! Where-ish in MIchigan are you from? Fall is seriously the best here - I mean I have only experienced fall in a few states but I think Michigan wins hands down. I know a few people who had never even heard of a cider mill before they met me. (people I met in Texas) anyways happy to have found your blog.

Being Content

Content, As christian women we here that word more times than we can count, especially in a season of waiting. Content is defined as,   pleased and satisfied : not needing more.  Have you been in a season in your life where your feel like you are just waiting? Waiting for a new job, waiting for things to get better, waiting for marriage, etc. Whatever you are waiting for, sometimes it just seems like it's taking forever just like a long line at the grocery store.  When I think about being content, my thoughts instantly go to being content in my singleness. How many times have we heard the cliche lines like "just wait, God's got it" said by well meaning people, only to make you feel worse. There was a time in my life where it was so hard to hear all of those lines without just wanting to cry, because like I said it made me feel worse rather than better.  That is when I would get discontent in waiting,  sometimes I feel like i am in this never...

Beauty out of Brokenness

1 Samuel 16:7  So as you may know, this months theme here on the Quiet Place is beauty in the brokenness and it's one of those topics that I personally just want to flesh out and be real with you all. Merriam Webster defines beauty as :  the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit. And brokenness is a place that each of us has been in at one time or another.  For me personally I would say that I find beauty in the brokenness in my life, in the seasons that I am in. Weather it be singleness, loss, etc. There's always that feeling that nothing will ever change, but then one day you begin to find beauty in it.  Singleness has always been on of those things for me, that I share a lot about both here and on my personal blog but it's something that I've always seen as a  line between something that is beautiful and just plain hard. I have emailed back and fort...

Next, add the crushed tomato's, then the whole tomatoes one at a time, squeezing them into the pan to break them up. Also add...
