Blogging Goals 2015

It's a New Year and with that brings a new season of blogging.  I can't believe it's been two years since we started this blog. It's grown so much, and  I am excited to see where it goes this year as we continue to grow and change. This year I have some exciting new content in store for you all, which i will explain in more detail below.

1. Around The Table Linkup: This is a linkup that I am personally really excited about. It's going to be a linkup where there's a theme for each month, but I may do some months without a theme. Anyway, each month me and my co-host will share a recipe that we use to create community around our tables. And you will have a chance to link it up! I am currently booked with co-hosts until October, but I am looking to fill November and December. So if you are interested email me at: britney.thequietplace@gmail.com and I can give you more information.

2. Blogging Tips: I would like to start posting some blogging tips this year, as i have learned things about the blogging community and blogging itself I have wanted to share what I've learned with others. So that is one of my goals in 2015. This is new series i would like to start.

3. Create New Content:  This year I would like to create some new content for you the reader. So if you have any favorite type of posts, let me know in the comments or email me.

4. Update newsletter: make it more appealing to look at and update the content of it.

Devotional Monday: For now Devotional Monday will be going away, i may decide to bring it back in the near future. But for now it's going away, simply because it doesn't seem to bring much traffic and there are other posts that I think will be a better alternative to that.

Is there something you would like to see on the Quiet Place?  Do you have any goals for the new year?

The Wetherills Say I Do | Guest Post

Founders Note: Today on the blog we have one of our August sponsors Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do . She is also one of my blogging friends, I have enjoyed working with her this month and am excited to continue in the future, she is a sweet girl with a big heart for others and Jesus! Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Finding Comfort in the "Waiting Room"

Founders Note: Today's post is written by our new friend Brooke. Her blog is called "Living as a Single Gal". (you can find the link below) We've just discovered Brooke's blog and we look forward to unwrapping more of the great wisdom she has to share. Without further ado, here is her post... Imagine, if you will, that you are in a waiting room. The room is crowded; people standing, people on chairs, people sitting on the floor; this room is totally packed full. And all of these people are waiting. Waiting for what you may ask? That’s simple; love. You are standing in a corner with some of your girlfriends having some laughs. Then one of them gets called out of the room. Then another. Then another; another one bites the dust. One by one all of your single girlfriends are leaving the waiting room and finding true love. Not only are your friends leaving you, but the rest room seems to empty out significantly. And then there’s you. --...

RelayRides  recently contacted us and wanted us to share our travel essentials. RelayRides is a peer to peer sharing car rental service that takes community into account when renting cars. You can also get airport car rentals as an option for people coming and going from the airport. So be sure to check out that as well on their site. Below are a few of my travel essentials and some things that I am always sure to bring with me when traveling. It was hard to only pick a few things, but I would love to hear what your travel essentials are. Whether your traveling for the Holidays or not, there are always things that you are sure to bring with you! 1. VERA BRADLEY SUITCASE |  I love having a colorful bag that I can use for travel and it's not too heavy which is good. 2. Being Content

Content, As christian women we here that word more times than we can count, especially in a season of waiting. Content is defined as,   pleased and satisfied : not needing more.  Have you been in a season in your life where your feel like you are just waiting? Waiting for a new job, waiting for things to get better, waiting for marriage, etc. Whatever you are waiting for, sometimes it just seems like it's taking forever just like a long line at the grocery store.  When I think about being content, my thoughts instantly go to being content in my singleness. How many times have we heard the cliche lines like "just wait, God's got it" said by well meaning people, only to make you feel worse. There was a time in my life where it was so hard to hear all of those lines without just wanting to cry, because like I said it made me feel worse rather than better.  That is when I would get discontent in waiting,  sometimes I feel like i am in this never...
