Word Of the Year: Grace

That's my word of the year, Grace
Grace when I feel overwhelmed, grace when I've had a crappy day, and so on. Most importantly grace from a loving, perfect, God who will never leave my side. No matter what pain I may face or how overwhelmed I feel, or how far away I run from him. He is always there to offer me grace.

2nd Corinthians 12:9 is a great reminder that his grace is sufficient for us. I love the message version of this verse which says: "My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness." It's a reminder that we don't always have to get it right, yet he still loves us. His grace is enough, it's all you need- that resonates with me so much, and reminds me that it's all I need to get through the day.

So this year I want to daily be reminded of his grace and love for me each and every day. I want to remember that he still loves me even when I think I failed. "His Grace is enough" And nothing can separate me from that.

Last but not least, I've asked my beachview ad sponsors Madison and Jessica to share their goals for their blogs in 2015

My blog is a faith based lifestyle blog, which means I talk about what's going on in my life through the lens of my faith! It's such an amazing creative outlet for me! Some goals I have are to launch some new types of posts and to focus on growing my readerships and making genuine connections through my blog!

Originally, I started The Artsy Cajun to share my travel posts to friends and family. We traveled to 17 countries in 38 days, and that's quite a bit of info and pictures to have to email! I'm still working on finishing up those posts of our trip, but now the blog has morphed into me sharing recipes, craft DIY's, and just life in general. I have tons of goals for 2015! Organizing my schedule so I have equal time to put into TheArtsyCajun.com as well as PrayerfulBloggers.com. I also want to start on getting my Theology degree, and my Mr. and I have started buying camping gear so we can just unplug and spend time together in nature every other weekend. I believe 2015 is going to be an exciting year!

  1. I love it!
I was just thinking about the idea of God's grace yesterday. It is so comforting to know that we serve a God that gives grace DAILY, and not just when He feels like it.
Each day is new, and a chance to live in freedom and joy.

    Thanks for sharing!

Being Content

Content, As christian women we here that word more times than we can count, especially in a season of waiting. Content is defined as,   pleased and satisfied : not needing more.  Have you been in a season in your life where your feel like you are just waiting? Waiting for a new job, waiting for things to get better, waiting for marriage, etc. Whatever you are waiting for, sometimes it just seems like it's taking forever just like a long line at the grocery store.  When I think about being content, my thoughts instantly go to being content in my singleness. How many times have we heard the cliche lines like "just wait, God's got it" said by well meaning people, only to make you feel worse. There was a time in my life where it was so hard to hear all of those lines without just wanting to cry, because like I said it made me feel worse rather than better.  That is when I would get discontent in waiting,  sometimes I feel like i am in this never...

Beauty out of Brokenness

1 Samuel 16:7  So as you may know, this months theme here on the Quiet Place is beauty in the brokenness and it's one of those topics that I personally just want to flesh out and be real with you all. Merriam Webster defines beauty as :  the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit. And brokenness is a place that each of us has been in at one time or another.  For me personally I would say that I find beauty in the brokenness in my life, in the seasons that I am in. Weather it be singleness, loss, etc. There's always that feeling that nothing will ever change, but then one day you begin to find beauty in it.  Singleness has always been on of those things for me, that I share a lot about both here and on my personal blog but it's something that I've always seen as a  line between something that is beautiful and just plain hard. I have emailed back and fort...
