This month we have six lovely ladies on our sidebar, Today we are featuring five of them. This month we asked them the question: "What has God taught you this past year?" For me (Britney) God has taught me to remember that he is with me wherever I go. And this year he is teaching me trust, in all that is happening in my life. So be sure to check out each of their blogs, you won't be disappointed! What has God taught you this past year? Kiki - God's taught me so many things this past year! He's taught me to share and embrace my singleness , to make new friends, to live in the present , to trust and keep on trusting , to re-define my blog , and to keep loving Him. There are so many other lessons that I've learned, but you'll just have to come visit me at my blog to find out! Blog | Blog Lovin' | Twitter | Pinterest Christina: Gosh there have been SO many lessons learned this past year! For one- trust in Him. I know, DUH! right? Well...
This was really timely. Last night, my friends and I were just talking about contentment in seasons that aren't what you expect. I wish that we would have thought of this verse. It can be hard to accept the things that God is doing that don't look like what we expect. But He's capable of so much more than we can ask or imagine if we'll surrender to Him. Thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteThis is so good! I agree, sometimes I find it that my "need it now" mentality keeps me from being content in the Lord. You hit the nail on the head with this and I needed it today!
ReplyDeleteExactly!!!! I mean, waiting for the right thing is soooo much better than having the wrong thing. Why can't we get that through our heads!?!?!
ReplyDeleteThis post is so beautifully real. Being content is hard for everyone in different stages of life, I think. It takes patience (and the willingness to lean on God) to really be content.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true Stacia! sometimes we just have to let God to the leading and get out of the drivers seat.
ReplyDeletethanks Morgan!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! We live in a world where everything is just handed to us and that is when we need to be reminded that God provides for our needs and not the world.
I love your statement- "It can be hard to accept the things that God is doing that don't look like we expect." I have definetly been at that place, where i just want things to go my way but God has a totally different plan.
ReplyDeleteThat's the truth! :)
ReplyDeleteI love what you said there, "Waiting for the right thing is so much better than having the wrong thing" Sometimes we settle for the wrong thing and end up getting hurt in the process, which is hard but I also think that we need to remember that he always meets us where we are at no matter the process it takes to get there.
ReplyDeleteMorgan,
ReplyDeletethat is so true! We just have to wait until God tells us what to do next.
Contentment is something I struffle with at times as well. It is a daily giving up of ourselves and our wants and letting God do his work in us.
ReplyDeleteSo true that is so important! :)
