April Theme: Gratitude

Happy April Friends!

I don't know about you but the light snow falling outside of my window this morning really reminds me of how ready I am for rainstorms and flowers. Along with hopes of beautiful spring weather, today I am glad to inform you that April's theme is Gratitude. I hope that you will join us as we learn about gratitude and how to be thankful in all circumstances.

When I thought of this month's theme this verse immediately came to mind...

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

In honor of practicing gratitude despite circumstances, I hope that you will join me in making a list of what you are thankful for. I think that you will find even in the hardest of times, there is always something to be grateful for.

I am thankful for...
Good friends, babies, family, music, birds, sunshine, warm weather, a God who heals, joy, hope, muffins, coffee, puppies, pink tulips, my job, an education, a warm home, a clean house, quiet moments, candles, chocolate, colors, my car, birthdays, redemption, Easter, a God who loves, art, pianos, guitars, buttercups, doors and God's provision.

What are you thankful for today?

  3. This month's theme is so perfect with winter being on its way out!!! :)

Reading over your list reminded me of so many things that I really am grateful for even though I don't really THINK about them!

    I'll add these things:

God, the Gospel, my community, dinners (and ANYTHING) with friends, people who have shared their knowledge with me over the years, family, fingernail polish, fresh spring air, my vacuum, laughter, warm socks, hot water, record labels whose artists rap the gospel, blooms, skype, sunshine, memories, and the list goes on and on!!!

Today She is sharing her heart on this months theme: Beauty in the Brokenness. So be sure to check out her blog at the links below! If you've ever heard a group of people share their testimonies, a lot of them have a common thread: brokenness. A lot of now believers had to come to a very low point in their lives before they had their breaking moment of calling out to Jesus. Have you ever wondered why that is? Why is it that so many of us have to hit rock bottom before we'll realize our infinite need for a Savior? I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know that in my darkest moments, I've seen the Lord hand out grace and turn brokenness into beauty. We all tend t...

Finding Comfort in the "Waiting Room"

Founders Note: Today's post is written by our new friend Brooke. Her blog is called "Living as a Single Gal". (you can find the link below) We've just discovered Brooke's blog and we look forward to unwrapping more of the great wisdom she has to share. Without further ado, here is her post... Imagine, if you will, that you are in a waiting room. The room is crowded; people standing, people on chairs, people sitting on the floor; this room is totally packed full. And all of these people are waiting. Waiting for what you may ask? That’s simple; love. You are standing in a corner with some of your girlfriends having some laughs. Then one of them gets called out of the room. Then another. Then another; another one bites the dust. One by one all of your single girlfriends are leaving the waiting room and finding true love. Not only are your friends leaving you, but the rest room seems to empty out significantly. And then there’s you. --...
