Founders Note: Today on the blog we have our Monthly Contributor Kiki, sharing her heart on this months theme: Grace.
I've always loved the word grace. There's a certain beauty about that word and a certain peaceful quality about it, too. Maybe it's just the nerd in me, but I like words and grace is one of those words.
But there's more to grace than just the sound that it makes when it leaves your mouth. There's much more to it.
The word grace means life. It means faith. It means forgiveness.
I came across a quote on Pinterest the other day and it really stuck. I think it originated from another blogger and I couldn't shake the words out of the back of my mind. "Grace is forgiving. Grace is also for giving." Grace means forgiveness. It means mercy. It means wiping the slate clean when life gets messy. It means a fresh start. It means life, and Jesus, and so much more than I could ever fully grasp or understand.
Grace is amazing. And while it's an amazing thing for me to grasp, I also need to give some of it away. I can't just live thinking that I'm the only recipient of grace. Or that Jesus is the only giver of grace. Grace is free to give and free to receive. And it's not just forgiving. It's for giving, too.

Love how you reminded us that we like to give grace but it's harder for us to give out. So very true. Thanks for that friend!
ReplyDeleteI honestly find it hard to do both at times! Grace is tough, but it's something I couldn't do without. So grateful for friends and Jesus who remind me that grace is truly amazing. :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful explanation of grace. I too love the word grace, and have always felt that same sense of beauty and peace when I hear it. Thank you for sharing this today!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Natalie! Grace is such an amazing word and it definitely packs an amazing punch, too (in a good way, of course!). :)
Deletelove that quote! oooh so good! it's crazy to me how much grace i have received and how little i give!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a great post? I loved it the moment I saw it and knew instantly that it was meant to be shared. Grace is something I've definitely received a lot of over the years and am now just realizing I need to give away, too. You're definitely not alone in this, friend!
